No but we should have once a year . The Gp gets funding to do then. I actually complained to my GP because apart from a call 2 days after my diagnosis , nobody got in touch . I have an underactive thyroid , so I accessed bloods as part of this review but it astounds me that it’s not even highlighted on my records that I’ve recently had treatment .for cancer.
I have to explain every time I go .
Contrast with a relative who had gynae cancer and gets an annual chat with GP !
I was diagnosed on 8th Dec 2025. I had a different docs appointment and my gp said I need a cancer checkup, its booked for 29th May.
I had a lumpectomy and sentinel lymphnode biopsy on the 3rd Feb, my first oncology appointment is 29th April so this gp appointment won’t be when I finish treatment
Good morning, everyone I was diagnosed at the end of January, and I had a call from the nurse at my GP surgery (who is the dedicated support nurse for all patients diagnosed with cancer registered at the surgery) last week to organise a one-to-one either via telephone or face-to-face … she said that she likes to meet personally, if I’m comfortable with that, rather than over the phone and that we can talk through any thoughts/feelings/concerns/etc …. I’m seeing her in a couple of weeks and then another appointment in six months … I was impressed that my surgery offered that service because I had no idea about it
