I completed 6 x FEC and after a month I started seeing like a hair inside my eye which moved with it and it is quite annoying when reading small letters. I have miopia and the oncologist scheduled me a visit to the ophtalmology department at the hospital. The doctor said that the gel behind the eye has separated from the back wall and eventually my brain should get used to it. He did not actually put it down to being because pf the chemotherapy, he just said that this is quite common in people who has got miopia. But I wonder…it is too much of a coincidence that it appeared now! And it has not gone away, it is very annoying. Well, at tleast he said that the eyes are clear of any kind of cancer…that was a relief!
HI: Just picked up on this and have read thru most comments including my mate Lily. Have found over the last few weeks of CMF that my eyes take ages to focus properly when waking up but once focussed are OK for the rest of the day. Also I feel like I have bits of sand under my eyelids. I also wear varifocals but am so old (61) that I get deals from various opticians but glasses still expensive -varifocals and photochromic (dark in the sun). WIll have eye test further down the line when most of the chemicals will have gone from my body. Don’t like the comment about glaucoma but will worry about that later.
