I’m having a few problems coming off my 5 year Tamoxifen and wondered if anyone else was having the same problems? Any help would be gratefully appreciated. I’m in a new job and need to get back to work ASAP.
I came off my Tamoxifen on Friday (after 5 years) and by Sunday I had nausea, feeling dizzy, light headed, very confused and spaced out and generally feeling unwell. I had a major reaction when I started taking the Tamoxifen so maybe my body is just very sensitive. Would be really good to here from other people and how they felt or are feeling?
Has anyone had similar withdrawal symptoms?
Karen
Hi,
I also finished 5 years of tamoxifen in January. Like you I was also very sensitive to it at the start but I also had side effects when I stopped ie, dizzy, lack of concentration, fatigue++ and generally felt like I had been hit with a sledgehammer. That lasted for two weeks and then lifted. I had so much energy then was able to swim most days and go to the gym. Ilost almost a stone and felt really good. Then I was started on letrozole and boy that was ten times worse than tamoxifen!! Anyway a multitude of side effects and this week my onc feels that I should stop it so am hoping that very soon I shall feel less like a 90 year old!
Hello Patsy88
I’ve been off tamoxifen for almost 3 weeks now after 5 years. Everyone told me I’d feel so much better but to be honest I don’t. I do seem to have less pain in my joints but I feel exhausted. I have been on my period now for 2 weeks, so I don’t suppose that helps. I’m 54 so I had expected to be done with all that by now. I’m keeping fingers crossed that things improve.
I am training for Jane Tomlinson 10k, walking 15k a week plus excersise class and a zumba session. Maybe I’m expecting too much. I work full time.
Docs tomorrow to sort out bleeding!
Regards Chinook.
Hi, I have been off tamoxifen for 3 months and been feeling dizzy and really tired. I really thought i would feel better than i do. Also had slight bleeding the other day, after 6 yers of no periods was a shock. Hope the feeling goes away soon. Maybe it is just our bodies adjusting?
