I have and feeling a bit apprehensive so it would be nice to get to know some names before we go.

The YWF is aimed at women aged between 20 and 45, so mid 40’s is fine. Do have a look at the information, they really are well received events and all attendees have postitive things to say about the the days.

I have also signed up for the Forum in Blackburn and am also getting a bit nervous particularly as I am not looking my best at the moment with bits of fluff for hair, a tube dandling from my right boob and a massive belly an bum from all those nasty steroids - that’s what I am blaming it on!!

Great stuff. And you sound like the perfect friend! I am tubeless and boobless(well one) cant blame the steroids anymore so I noddingly say to peolpe I would love to lose weight but its the medication and I’m on it for five years (prior to that I used to blame it on baby weight despite kids being 4 and 5 at the time) and my hair has grown back. The style however is somewhat in need of a radical make-over as my hub and myself refer to it as the irish-mammy! Its thick blackish and curly and has taken on a form of its own. But great to hear from you keep in touch and l look forward to meeting you in Blackburn

I’ve just signed up for the forum in Blackburn.
I think I’ll fit in - in terms of appearance - I’m currently hairless, 1 normal boob and 1 slightly square shaped on which I can balance my mobile phone(!), normally a size 8 but rapidly growing out of all my trousers so tried on some jeans in Dorothy Perkin’s today (so I’d have some clothes to wear next weekend!) when my mum offered to take the 12s back and bring a size 14 I gave up and came home!!

So glad you are going and it will be so lovely to meet you. Great stuff. I have hair now. Not quite what I wanted but its there its hair! Keep in touch. am sort of looking forward to forum now. Does anyone know if we have to go dressed really posh as the hotel it’s at is posh. This is a bit of a problem for me with the current size of my bottom and can’t afford to buy new togs as am only getting ssp from work!! Whereabouts do you both come from?

I saw my BCnurse yesterday and she said they had been contacted last week as they were struggling to reach the mininum number and when I was at the Breast Institute last week they had some fliers but that was the first time I’d seen any there so up until then I guess people wouldn’t know about it unless they were using the website. I suppose a lot of people, like me, might not sign up until nearer the time because they don’t know how well they are going to be.
Nic - have you got details about the hotel then?
I’m from Nottingham so I’m travelling up on the Thursday. Will either of you be there early?

Got my info today and am really looking forward to it. Made more so by you guys. Nic please please please dont worry about dress code, to be aboslutely honest just want to be there with people who can appreciate what has hapened to our lives. Having said that I too have thought about what I can wear. But really I would prob never remember you for your wardrobe but more so for being there! Angela, I will be there very early not sure about thurs eve, but defo early on fri. Just working stuff out so will keep you ‘posted’.

sorry not replied earlier but haven’t been feeling too great. I am staying with my friend on Thursday night who lives just around the corner from the hotel which is lucky. Will hopefully be there quite early on the Friday.I only live about 10 miles away but I could get lost on my own street so don’t fancy driving round and round Accrington in rush hour. I am absolutely hopeless. Angela has your info come yet? My friend says that the hotel is very posh about £120 a night for a single room - can’t say I’ve ever stayed any where like this before!

No, I’ve not received my information yet but then I only sent my registration form off last week but you’re really whetting my appetitie. And yes, because it will take me about 4hrs to get to Blackburn on the train I’m staying in the hotel the night before. When the information first came and I saw how early it started on the Friday I didn’t think I would be able to come after all and was so disappointed I decided to see if I could book myself into the hotel for an extra night but when I rang BCC they said they make arrangements for people who have such a long journey, which is absolutely fantastic as I might have changed my mind had I found it was going to cost me £120!!

Would love to be able to get there and if struggling for numbers would get a taxi. Its just that I am not good at driving on the motorway. Live in ormskirk which is not that Far. Have not registered but would hate it to be cancelled.

I received all my information this morning so I assume that the weekend is going ahead. They say that the weekend is for women aged 20-45 so at 42 you’re not too old - why don’t you phone? The phone number is included in the 3rd post on this thread.

Yes got info about hotel, it looks lovely. I think we are going to have a very nice time. Dont worry about the thread as long as I know you will be there early I shall get to you as soon as I can. I am staying at a relatives house the night before and coming to the hotel by taxi. I cant drive the distance from my house to there it just makes me sore for days, so having to sort and organise so I can be nearer but have heard they are very good so it will be worth it.
Nic where are you from? You say 10 miles away, I’m about 15 miles, live in Manchester.
