Have I lost my sense of humour?

I guess it is down to your personal sense of humour and how you are feeling at the moment of receipt. I think its quite funny, the first bit anyway, particularly about the fridge door. I was trying to describe a mammogram to my friends and was explaining how flat your breast can get - its surreal. I have a very black sense of humour and laugh at things others find offensive or simply not funny, perhaps as a way of keeping sane, but I would be very careful who I aimed or sent my “jokes” to as I am very perceptive and realise how different we all are. I do think the bit about “men” very corny and not funny at all, but as others have said, I would just delete.

I don’t think it has anything to do with losing your sense of humour. I think it just trivialises something serious we’ve all been through. Prior to being ill I would’ve half read this, half smiled and either deleted it or forwarded it to a few friends. Life changes and I constantly surprise myself at how I react to things now.

i agree with gillymac, somethings will strike you more and upset you depending on our own personal experiences. I recently received a chain email sent to me at work all about growing old and how wonderful it is and how i had this to look forward to ( I hope I do), i nearly cried as I am only 41.
I must admit the bit about the fridge door is a good description as i have had 5 mammos in 14 mths.I do have a good sense of humour but the old age email was not funny to me.
