Head wear

Does anybody have any recommendations for trendy head wear. I want something fashionable?? TIA

I’ve been experimenting for a friend who has had chemo. I got some hijab caps from eBay,  they are like hemmed tubes or very wide head bands and you can get a really wide range of colours. Put on your head, just like a cap and then roll up the excess and tuck in. Then I’ve bought 25 cm strips of stretch jersey from fabric shop, these don’t need hemming, and wound the fabric around the cap ( on the head) and tuck the ends in. You can twist at the front to get a turban effect, or plait in wide and narrow strips.

When I’ve tested, the tuck ins stay put, but you could get a friend to put a few stitches in ( other hand between cap and your scalp !). So you can have black and black or fuchsia and bright patterned,  or two different fabrics and pinned on flowers or bead or sparkles or whatever you fancy!. The ones I’ve road tested wash in a mixed wash ok. If you want to be dressed up you could get silk,  but stretchy fabric  does work well.

The hijab caps were less that £2 each and I think the fabric was about the same, so I don’t think to expensive and you can really mix and match. You could get the fabric on line, if that’s easier.

Hope this isn’t too faffy, and that it’s an idea at least, with love, Caroluna

Thank you Flopsy. With the lace ones can you see the skin showing through?? X

HI Leesy,

I found some great ones on amazon, use the search term hairloss headwear, they have some lovely headwear different colours and very soft on the head try Deresina Headwear. I then put a headscarf over the top.  Goodluck.
