Headaches and bruising????

I’ve not been feeling well for some time but have not officially relapsed. I’ve posted on here before about various aches and pains and was very relieved that a lot of you were experiencing the same. I’m officially known as a hypochondriac at the doctors sugery!

For a few days now I’ve been suffering from bad headaches and have also noticed a few really red bruises when I hardly remember bumping myself. I’ve just had a blood test and the results were clear.

Any suggestions as to what this could be?

Hi Susie

If you are going down the leukemia route stop there - it would have shown in your blood!! Tamoxifen can cause headaches and bruising so my Gp said.

I too am a hypochondriac since this bloody disease - I think I posted in answer to one of your questions about your hip - did you have it checked?

How long are you since diagnosis?

Hi Susie - I had really bad headaches during first year of menopause and tamoxifen - so bad they sent me for a brain scan - but everything was clear and eventually they cleared up. I used to get bad headaches when I had periods and think mine were due to hormone changes.
Just try lots of fluids and hope they start to ease soon - sometimes they can also be triggered by cutting out foods/caffiene.

If you eat chocolate trying cutting that out for a few weeks and see if there is any improvement. Alcohol and spicy foods as well can be triggers. If you are taking aspirin you can bruise easily. I do.

Hi Susie

I have had less headaches since I swapped to Tetley Redbush tea and Kenco decaff coffee. The bruising is a side effect of Tamoxifen. I bruise easily and even when I have a breast check up, I am left with four finger shaped bruises from where the Consultant has moved my arm!!! I always got monthly headaches and I think the ones I get are also hormonal related even though “auntie rarely comes to stay now”. I am 45.
