Hi,
I haven’t been on hormone treatments, but got bad heartburn during chemo, I was prescribed Lansoprazole which worked brilliantly, just 1 tablet a day before breakfast and no more heartburn. Maybe your GP could give you something to help.

thanks jen iam booked in thursday. xxx gaynor
Gaynor, I had indigestion anyway from long term steroids for lung problem and weekly anti osteoprosis treatment, but chemo definitely made it worse. Currently doing well on lansoprazole as above, but also helped at one stage by anti thrush medication.
Hope you have a good consultation with your GP.
Hi Gaynor
I’ve suffered from acid reflux since my last chemo. At times it’s been really bad. The doctors tell me its coincidence that it’s happened although I know that other women have been told that chemo can start it. I am also on tamoxifen and do wonder whether that worsened it.
Treatment: as others have said, lansoprazole is a good place to start. There are others of the same type of medicines known as proton pump inhibitors such as omeprazole and esomeprazole.
Speak to your GP about it. They prescribe something for a short period of time initially to see if it resolves the problem for you.
How bad is your heartburn? Elinda x
I’ve just been prescribed Omeprazole which has been a godsend! Before I was having to sleep slighly upright!
Like the others, I’ve not got to the hormome therapy bit, but have rotten heartburn on chemo, and been prescribed Lansoprasole… I have also recently beeen recommended the Aloevera that you ingest. I started that last week, and it’s made a significant difference… hope you get it sorted… Jane
Omeprazole (aka Losec) was prescribed by my oncologist - like magic, trully. One or two a day depending what they prescribe, and can, I’m told, be taken as a response once heartburn starts so long as you don’t exceed the daily dose. Hope you find something that helps.
thanks everybody for your response. it means alot xxx gaynor
