Hello from a newbie

Hello,

Just thought I would say hi and introduce myself.

I am 54 years of age and was diagnosed with Grade 2 evasive ductual carcinoma  on the 23rd September and had surgery on the 8th October and am awaiting an appointment to go and see the Oncologist to discuss going forward with treatment.  One of my lymphnodes was also cancerous and so I had all of them removed.  I think I am finding the swelling and discomfort under my armpit to be the worse thing at the moment and the discomfort of the nerve damage in upper arm and also my breast.  I already feel that I would like to feel full of life again, but I don’t - I guess I am expecting a little too much of myself since the op was only just over 2 1/2 weeks ago.   I had a total thyroidectomy about 10 years ago and think that that also may make my recovery period slightly longer??  On one hand I’m not looking forward to the treatment in going forward but on the other I just want to get it started so I can look forward to the end.  Not having so many melt down days now and feeling I’ve just got to get on and throw back at life what life has thrown me.  Still do have days where I question myself and ask “why me” though.
