Hello. I'm new with an appointment on Thursday

Hello all

I am 40.  High risk of bc as my mum was diagnosed at 49 and her sister, my aunt at 55.  Mum is fine but aunt now has mets in lung and hip.

I began yearly mammograms in August, but felt what I can only describe as a ridge in my breast about 7 weeks ago.  Waited for my period in case it was hormones, but was still there after, and after the next one.

Saw Gp on Tuesday who referred me to a one stop thing at the hospital.  Appointment on Thursday afternoon.

Naturally I am worried.  There is not a full lump as such, but more the side of a possible one, with a deeper space to the left of it.

Really wanted the GP to say - don’t be daft there’s nothing there, and when she couldn’t find it I felt better, but then when I took her hand and showed her where I could feel it she said oh yes, there is something there.  Arse.

I have 2 kids both little and a holiday booked in 7 weeks.  Arse.

Best word to describe thing at the moment - arse!

Sorry for boring - feels better to even write it down a bit.

Thanks

Writing things down does really help. Hope everything goes smoothly for you this week. Sending you lots of love x

Hi tinks

Just wanted to say that I hope it goes OK for you on Thursday.

It could be anything, but best to get things checked out as soon as poss.

Even IF you need to have treatment, it doesn’t mean you can’t go on holiday.

But take one day at a time.

Best wishes xx

Thank you everyone. Will keep you posted.

Your not boring! I found a lump 3 weeks ago went last Thursday to breast clinic hD a mamogram , scan, another mamogram then another scan as they wasn’t happy. Then 3 biopsies. I get my results tomorrow. I also have a 16 year old daughter and am 42. It’s scary **bleep**. I lost my cousin at 44 3 years ago to it. But you know I’ve decided there’s not a lot you can do until you know, then you fight. I also list my best mate 16 years ago to BC, but, most lumps and masses are nothing. Stay positive. You are certainly not alone xxx

Hello - good news.

Had mammogram and ultrasoud.  Ultrasound show lots of cysts - one she said was large and old so may have contained grimy material.

She stuck a big needle in (didn’t hurt one bit) and then drew off fluid.

It was clear and so was mammogram.  Thing I was feeling has now disappeared.

Thank you if you replied to my post - or even read it.  I am truly grateful
