Hello, new here, unfortunately

Hello,
I was diagnosed at the end of May , IDC, ER+, HER -, Grade 2.

My HER result needed to be retested and we discovered an enlarged lymph node in my groin which needed to be biopsied, but no one seems overly concerned about it, so I’m taking my lead from them.

So it’s taken a while to get to this point, but I’ll be discussed at MDT on Monday and should have my treatment plan shortly after that.

I’m 55, living in the North East and I’ve found this forum so helpful in the last few weeks.

I’m not looking forward to ANY of what’s to come.
I’ve got trips away booked that I don’t know if I can even go to now and that’s … can I swear on here? …anyway, I’m cheesed off

What an absolute palaver this is!

Hi there
Sorry you’re here too. I’m new to the club too - I was diagnosed with ER+ PR+ HER2- at the start of June. I’m 36, and thankfully I’ve had the lumpectomy and node biopsy - waiting on the results of those.
I don’t know if you can swear on here but I hear your frustration!

Hi, Im new too and share your pain.
Ive been diagnosed with a grade 2 tumour on Monday.
Ive had several biopsies and test. Im waiting on results to determine what comes next.
Surgery is definitely on the cards.
Like you, I have a trip booked and Im hoping I will have had the surgery aand be allowed to travel.

Good word, palaver. Lots seems to have happened very quickly, but it feels like an age waiting for results, even though it isnt.

Hi, it sounds like we are at exactly the same point and waiting for our treatment plan.

I think I’ll feel much happier when I know what’s happening.

Big girl pants on and just get on with it!

Sorry to hear of the new diagnoses from @chefswife @preferablywithfood @jtspg. As @Jill1998 says, we are glad you have found us and there is a lot of helpful support here. I’m a fellow grade 2 er+ pr+ her2- lady. I had surgery, chemo and radiotherapy and I’m now out the otherside cancer free. It certainly is a palaver and there’s a lot of waiting and anxiety, but nothing I experienced was as difficult as my mind thought it would be. Take each treatment, appointment or surgery as a stepping stone on your diversion back towards the main path. Don’t worry about your booked trips - the hospital will work around your holidays. Good luck with the next steps and keep us informed x

Another fellow Grade 2 ER+/HER- here! I was diagnosed last year and had a lumpectomy, radiotherapy and now on tamoxifen. Like @bluesatsuma I found the treatment all much less difficult than I expected/feared. I didn’t need chemo so know my pathway has been relatively straightforward, but I was back to normal pretty quickly.

I cancelled a holiday and a running event when I was waiting for surgery and turns out I could have done both as there were a few delays in my case. I recognise now I let life grind to a halt and if I had to go back I would have done those planned things. Don’t cancel anything unless you absolutely have to.

Best of luck to everyone. x

Oh, I did that too!
And the only thing that happened over those few days was recieving a call in order to book a biopsy. Like you, I could have gone away after all.

I’ll definitely mention the trips. Thank you.

Since starting this thread I’ve been given an appointment next Wednesday. Yikes.
My first thought was " ohhhh, it’s starting!"

Hi good luck with your results. X

Yes I feel your pain about holiday/booked events. I turned 50 this year and made a point of having some nice things planned. I’m getting my 2nd biopsy results Tuesday morning, and did go to Italy for a week the day after that 2nd biopsy, the bcn encouraged me to go and a change of scenery and being in good company definitely helped, don’t think the excessive heat did. I’ve postponed a spa day as it will fall potentially into the surgery window and I cancelled a Greek holiday early September, again the bcn said it could ask work out that I could still go on that but the full payment was due so I only lost £60 and tbh jet2 have left a message saying I can rebook with no extra charge so I may speak to them and explain and see what they say. I’ve not worked since all this started as my work is physical and very public facing and I find that all draining, I’m self employed so it’s not ideal or easy but I do have some savings thankfully.
