Hi Theresa

Thinking of you and hope that everything went OK yesterday. I hope they have found you a quiet spot in the hospital so that you can rest

Hi…

I’m home… In the end they got me out even quicker this time - so i got out last night but i went straight to bed at 6.30pm when we got home as i was shattered…

the op went well - they are going to phone me when they get the lab results as they would only need to see me if they found any cancer…
i had sky high bp after the op so spent 3 hours in the recovery room… so they pumped me full of loads of morphine to get that back down - but unfortunatly that then made me sick… so not a great day on monday… but once all that was out my system i was fine and yesterday everyone kept saying how incredibly well i was looking…

i’ve still got both drains in - so will be having the district nurse in for the next few days…

thank you for thinking about me… it is good to be home…

Theresa

Lovely to hear from you

So pleased everything went well and lovely to be in the comfort of your own bed!
Hope those drains come out soon!

Make sure you rest now,
Take Care,
Love

Hi Theresa, I can’t believe how quickly you are home! They don’t hang around do they? You’re probably relieved actually to be back at home, so take things very easy and don’t over do it.

How long will you have to wait for the results?

Just heard off the breast cancer nurse and all was well with the lab results… no nasty lurking cells or anything… to be honest it is a great relief as i was concerned about having to have chemo again if anything was found…

Theresa

Hi Theresa

Really good news!!

Find a way to celebrate- you deserve at least a wine or three!

Andie

Thanks andie… to be honest i had just always been suspicious of that breast… i think partly as all during my treatment last year they never once scanned it… so how did we know if there was any ibc there or not…? (my annual mammogram had missed a 5.5cm ibc tumour in the other…) just so glad it is gone… even though i have been having more problems this time post surgery… the wound popped open on wednesday…

Theresa

Hi Theresa,

so pleased you got good results

Sorry your recovery is slower this time though, what have they done about the wound?

Take Care,
Jackie x

Hi Ladies,

Theresa, I’m glad to hear you are at home and recovering. I hope you don’t have any more problems with your wound. I can imagine your relief that you don’t have to face more chemo.

My mastectomy went smoothly and I got home on Friday afternoon. Drains out and (apart from being single breasted) only a big dressing to show for it all. The hospital stay wasn’t nearly as bad as I feared. The staff from surgeons to domestics were fantastic. (That’s not to say I would ever want to do it again.)

Pathology results are due next Thursday and I should find out if all the chemo was worth it.

Jan {{{hugs}}} good to see you home and that everything has gone well… I will be thinking of you on Thursday and hoping for lots of shrinkage and low if any lymph node numbers…

I am still in pain here…:frowning: although i do seem to remember alot of pain last time - which i put down to having the lymphnodes removed… not wondering if it is actually nerve pain as the paracetamol etc just doesn’t seem to making any difference at all…:frowning: I think i will have to phone up and book a gp appointment to see if they will prescribe me anything else…

Theresa

Lovely to hear from you Jan, glad you’re home safely.

Theresa, don’t put up with the pain, you’re right to phone your GP for something stronger.

Take care ladies,
Jackie x

Sorry to hear you’re still in pain Theresa. I’ve been lucky, so far the paracetamol has worked well and I have reasonably good arm movement.

Do you have a nurse coming in to attend to your wound? Can they prescribe something for you? I hope it eases soon and doesn’t affect your arm movement for too long.

Jan xx
