Hello I’ve just joined. It would be nice to chat to people in the same boat as me. I have the diagnosis of breast cancer which is metastasised into my spine and I actually have cancer in every Vertebrae in my spine. I have had radiotherapy and chemotherapy and I’m currently taking Tamoxifen which is a hormone treatment. I also have monthly pamidronate infusions, which help to strengthen the bones in my back.
Hi Alison H,
I am in the same boat as you, as it were. I was diagnosed in February 2010 with secondaries. I was never diagnised with Primary Breast Cancer, so the whole thing was a dreadful shock to me and my family. I too have mets in my bones. The bone scan looks like join the dots! I also have cancer in the liver. I started on Letrizole anti-hormone and this worked for 2 1/2 years. I am now on 18 weeks of chemo. The hormone treatment was OK, but gave me terrible sweats. The chemo has taken this away but, other side affects have taken over. Pamidronate I have had 4 weekly since treatments began and it seems to be working.
Let me knw a bit about yourself, how you are coping (and your family)? Perhaps some of my experiences may help.
Kind regards,Mangobird xx
