HELP - black painful big toe nails

Help - My toe nails have taken a bit of a beating with Tax - atlhogh even after FEC they were a bit bruised. I have finished my Tax now and they are both black and painful when anything presses on them (like shoes). I’ve been ok (ish) up to now as I have worn flip flops and open toed shoes etc, but was away this week and tried to go walks but the pain was too much with my shoes and trainers pressing on the toe nails.

I haven’t spoken to anyone about them, I just thought it was a side effect of chemo and would clear up - but googled earlier (I know I shouldn’t) and it mentioned that if they are black then the nail needs to be removed or it can spread and foot and leg can become gangerous!! OMG…

Anyone had a similiar problem and what did you do to firstly stop the pain and secondly help clear up the problem ???

PS my other toe nails and finger nails are a bit sore - but not nearly as bad as my big toe nails.

X

Hi Saffronseed
My nails are sore and I have one black nail after 2nd fec, but I thought it was due to me walking down a mountain too fast (it was raining) Stop googling (gangrene omg) I don’t think that applies to us.
I hope someone can help with advise or experience
Hugs
Maria
