I’m halfway through my planned 8 chemo cycles. 3 1/2 weeks ago I came down with this awful cold/virus that is doing the rounds and i just cannot shift it. I know my low immunity won’t be helping. I have no temperature so docs and oncology team are not worried but I’m so done with it now. I’m constantly blowing my nose and coughing and it’s exhausting. I’m regularly steaming and taking cold meds but nothing is touching it. Can anyone suggest anything that may help?

I’m so sorry you haven’t had any replies to your post. How are you feeling now? It might be helpful if you give our nurses a call on 0808 800 6000 (our free helpline) as they might be able to give you some advice if you’re still not feeling great.

Hi, I hope your cold is shifting. I’m 3 chemo session in and I developed a cold this week. Had chemo last Friday. Feeling crap and it has thrown me completely as I had been doing ok . Was at doctors yesterday and no sign of an infection. It really does knock you sideways. My mood has dropped a lot which is not like me. You just feel useless. X
