help line busy

help line has been busy for last half hour–is this normal or is it down??

so in the meantime-- has anyone else had invasive ductal grade 3 and not had chemo. I asked her to repeat it. I looked it up later and it seems that it normally does, or is it because it is just hormanal and not HER responsive.

serves me right for looking things up

yes i know someone who had grade 3 invasive ductal… no node involvement… she had rads… no chemo… and DONT GOOGLE… cant help ourselves can we lol

The grade impacts whether they want to treat it, as does the size, and of course node involvement (Nodes = chemo almost definitely).

I know some people with SMALL G3 IDC have been shown the relative figures (adjuvant online I think) showing the likely survival rates with and without chemo, and have been allowed to make up their own minds whether they have chemo or not. What a decision! I know what mine would have been if I’d been given the choice, would definitely have grabbed chemo with both hands if it offered an increase in likelihood of survival.

just got through and you two are correct. My main tumor was not agressive so although it had a good blood supply they were not worried about that at all. The invasive ductal cells they found were too small to show on the scan and so probably did not have an indipendant blood supply and so if my nodes were clear(they were) there is no chemo—that makes sense

sounds good to me hun … great news eh ? xx

Yes hun thats me too IDC grade 3 Rads only & mine is TN which usually does have chemo thrown at it but my onc reasured me it wasn’t needed not only was my tumor only 7mm but other factors too clear nodes no vessel atatchment (you can have vessels attatched & still be classed as clear margins) my tumor was also ‘free’ not attatched to anything, so with my age & menopausal status all these odds were in my favor apparently !
