Hi
As I live in France things are just slightly different here and I was recommended SPIRULINA which is 100% natural and helps boost the immune system as well as help with fatigue. The hospital nurses said it was OK to take whilst on chemo - I just wondered if anyone else had heard of it or has taken it.

Hi Ginny
Sorry no-one’s replied yet. I have heard of Spirulina, but can’t remember where or why. I’ve just googled it and this is what it said:
Spirulina helps prevent heart damage caused by chemotherapy using Doxorubicin, without interfering with its anti-tumor activity.
Sounds ok to me.

Hi Ginnyg
I hae been reading about spirilina and it seems that a lot of people are taking it. I am going to suggest it for my sister as it can’t do any harm. Currently she is taking WHEY it is a protein and it also is bought from the health shop, so good luck to you and keep up your spirits. We laughed about the WHEY as in the nursery ryhme little miss muffet sat on her tuffet eating her curds and whey so she’s been around along time with it lol so you will be to

Hi, I have now been using spirulina about 6 weeks, finish radiotherapy couple of weeks ago, surgery in February and chemo finished in January 2009.
Since I am taking spirulina I feel so good that I can not tell how much it made difference, I am not tired at all even before diagnosed I was always tired. I had 8 long months treatment and feel completely back to normal and I am at the gym 5 times a week doing two classes each day
but also changed my diet, no dairy, no meat, lots of fruit and veg. I believe it is also helping to loose weight.
I hope this was helpful, I would recommend organic spirulina.
All the best,
Gul x
