HER2+ and need some buddies

I wish they’d let me have a doze during my port fitting. Not that I was in loads of pain or anything (I’d call it brief discomfort) but I was knackered during mine and asked if they could knock me out so I could have a kip and they said they needed me alert during it.
I love my port but I also am looking forward to getting it removed next year cos I keep fiddling with it (probably because I thought I wouldn’t be able to feel it easily and cos I can I’m an overthinker and fidget and absentmindedly keep checking it’s in the same place, which is stupid cos I think it’s properly anchored now).

So glad, are you home (sounded like you might be)?
It’s very overwhelming. I didn’t want to look at my chest until I was ready so didn’t for a few days. You don’t need to look straight away if you feel too overwhelmed, trust your gut.
Glad they got you some pain relief sorted, it’s quite uncomfortable for a few weeks so it’s not unusual.
Take it easy and rest as much as you can.
I hope the last part of your post was a joke (because of the laugh cry emoji). Sending hugs either way.

Sending hugs to you too.
Preparing for surgery once is so overwhelming, let alone twice in a month.

@jayveebee which omega are you taking?
I have been trying zinzino but it’s so expensive.

Unfortunately it’a not joke, I was suspicious and was saw him texting another and I comfort him and he didn’t denied it and said to talk later and focus now on my recovery.
Couple of months ago he was mentioning having second wife but he is not financially capable of and he said that he will never leave me even if he will have another.
For me as I accept the idea as Muslim it’s hurt now as I am going through critical time, instead of looking after me he is looking for another one.

@hasnae87 I feel like I’m treading on eggshells in not wanting to say the wrong thing to you…I get that there are cultural differences in how people view marriage, I just feel so sorry that you’re having to deal with this when you’re having to cope with chemo, surgery and all the side effects and worries for the future as well as keeping life as normal as possible for your little boy.

Thank you. My little boy is the motive I am carrying on fighting this battle with cancer, I want to raise him my self and see him growing up next to me.

It’s been an exciting week, yesterday I had a hygienist appointment and got all the staining off my teeth from the Corsydyl and now I am so excited to have just been for my first post chemo haircut.
I finished on 7 January and this is my before and after :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Oh gosh @hasnae87 I’m glad to hear that you’re through your surgery and you’ve got family there to help you through the recovery but I kinda want to punch your husband in the face for being such a cad and especially at a time when you’re so vulnerable. You hear about stuff like this happening when women are dx with cancer (more frequently than when men are dx and women are supporting) but I don’t understand how people can live with themselves when they treat another human being in that way. Sending love your way.

Hi @galdiolus coincidentally I’m also on Zinzinio Omega 3 but only because i paid for the whole protocol in desperation to help my daughters acid reflux. But she says the omega 3 hurts her stomach so I’m using it as its so expensive. No way I’m wasting it! Have you looked at British Supplements? Not sure how their price compares.

@jayveebee that’s so funny that you are on the same. I mean it does feel like it’s good for you it’s just so expensive!

Hello all

Just wanted to share a good day from yesterday!

When I began the treatment journey, the only date I had cast in stone with the oncologist was 16/07 when my daughter was graduating from uni. I had a few delays which threatened the likelihood of me being well enough to go but I MADE IT!!

A long day but I got through it and to enjoy a proud mum moment, with weird short white hair and all!

Still a way to go but proud of myself for getting this far as well as beyond proud of my lovely daughter who has had all this to deal with while completing her degree :two_hearts:

Back to wfh today but crested lifting memories.

Love and strength to you lovely lot

Well done both of you! Oh so precious times! All the better given the challenges to get to that day. It feels like we surface briefly take a deep breath then dive into the next stage of treatment, so good to celebrate.

@hasnae87 I hope you are recovering well and getting the support from your sister, so sorry to hear about your husband makes me so annoyed for you You got this and you are so strong.

@hoggie congratulations to your daughter, so glad you got to go and enjoy the day. Lovely pictures too.

I managed to get away with family to Cornwall for a week, which was much needed and nice to do some ‘normal’ things! My son definitely needed the time away too. I’ve been pretty exhausted since being home but it was worth it. I have since found out I have my surgery booked for 25th July so not far away. I am having a magseed put in on Tuesday, has anyone else had one? I think it is relatively new thing so the surgeon can easily find where the tumour is

My phesgo is being delayed as it was meant to be on the same day too. But they said they will now wait till my results come back as my treatment may need to be changed. I was actually told from my first oncology appt that there is the possibility of kadcyla after surgery, think ive been quite lucky with my oncologist.

Love to you all amazing ladies x

Hi all, random tip regarding cold capping! Have done a few capping’s now and discoverd using a stick on thin st across forehead under cap and one across neck under pipe more succesful than hairband! Just thought I’d put it out there🙃

Hi @under_the_sea . Glad you had a lovely week in cornwall, we did as well and it was great to get away with all the family, although my husband and i picked up a cough and cold from granddaughter so thats not so good.
I also had a mag seed amd trace, to help surgeon locate tumour site and identify sentinel node. They have been doing it in my area for about 5 or 6 years. It saves the need for injecting methylene blue dye or sentinel node localisation in Nuclear Medicine. It makes things a bit easier for everyone. Good luck for next week. Sounds like you have a good team around you.

@hoggie you and your daughter look great. Well done to you both.

@hasnae87 my heart goes out to you. What a sh**y husband. Thank goodness your sisters are there for you. Big hugs.

@hasnae87 so sorry to hear what is going on with your husband.

It’s his loss. You sound like a fantastic brave strong lady and you and your little boy will be just fine. I have been there too and these things only make you stronger.

Sending you love and so much courage

Afternoon all

@hasnae87 It saddened me to hear about your husband’s behaviour at a time like this. He has let you down big time. Not only is he not supporting you, he is betraying you. My ex-husband let me down when our son was born. He didn’t have an affair but he was not only unsupportive, but actively nasty. It was the first nail in the coffin for our relationship but it was a big one. Your husband should not be surprised if you now step back and distance yourself emotionally and physically. He has caused a great deal of damage to your marriage. What a very disappointing husband. Cultural differences aside, his behaviour is sexist, unsupportive and utterly disrespectful. We are here for you. You are worth so much more than this. Let your lovely little boy be the motivation to keep fighting.

@galdiolus you look lovely! I got Corsodyl staining and it felt lovely to get rid of it. You look really good.

@hoggie - Such happy news and I’m thrilled that you made it to your daughter’s graduation. I’m proud of you both. These are victories indeed.

@under_the_sea I had a wire put in for the first guided wire local excision. It seemed straightforward and was relatively painless. Really good luck for the 25th and so pleased you got some time away in Cornwall. And you @pennyp

Love, strength, happiness and positivity to all you wonderful women.
