Herceptin alone or in combination with arimatose inhibitors

I have been on Femara, an aritomase inhibitor for 5 years. My secondary tumour was grade 3, ER+ and HER2++. When all the publicity came out about Herceptin about 4 years ago, I asked the consultant if I could go onto this. She replied that I did not qualify because although my tumour was HER2++, to be eligible I had to be within 6 weeks of finishing Chemo and I had had my chemo 18 mons previously. Does anyone know if this rule still applies or if I would now be able to go onto herceptin.

I ask this because I am being investigated for a further reccurence and am wondering if Femara is no longer effective for me. Also have people been prescribed herceptin plus an aritomase inhibitor at the same time if they are both ER+ and HER2++ or is it one or the other.

I was + on ER, PR, and HER2 on primary diagnoses.

I started herceptin alongside taxotere chemo and then started tamoxifen once chemo had finished.

My understanding is herceptin is offered alongside chemo or upto 6 months once finished, I dont think femera is a chemo.
