Hi to all those taking Herceptin
Just wanted to know if anyone has had a reaction with there skin. I’ve had 4 Herceptins now every 3 weeks and my face is erupting in rash/spots. going to see my gp this afternoon. It seems so unfair at 49 to be covered in teenage spots and wrinkles!! Any comments or suggestions most welcome.

No, my skin has been better if anything but I put that down to the Tamoxifen! As Ive said on another thread I am very tired and have a sore and tender scalp, crap nails, and hair which seems to grow at a snails pace! Apart from this Im fine!

Hi Jordan,
After my first Tax/Herceptin my face was horrendous with really sore spots all over it, but I think that was just the initial shock to my system.Now I just get the odd spot after each one(now on 5th)which tend to dry up after a few days.

I am on Herceptin and have been really puzzled about what is happening with my skin, I usually have a great complexion and have never suffered with spots - I have been on Herceptin for 11 cycles and this has happened for the last 6 weeks - I now have spots and my skin has developed more wrinkles!! Only this morning I was searching google for a link and found this forum, so perhaps it is linked to Herceptin, I just figure I can’t moan given what I’ve gone through, just hope it doesn’t get too bad!! Sorry to hear you’re having similar trouble with skin to me. Teenage spots is one thing but combined with wrinkles it’s just so unfair! I went to my doctor in the end as it was just getting worse and was prescribed an antibiotic clear lotion with seems to have sorted the problem out, but it does seem to flair up when I stop using it. For me it was the last straw; I felt I’d got all the way through chemo and radio and the herceptin would be a breeze but no drug seems to be without it’s side effects. I hope your condition improves if not It’s worth a visit to your GP.

I went for a facial yesterday, my first one since I was diagnosed, at least the spots don’t seem worse after it, although I am expecting a breakout, I’ll let you know if it improves things - in the changing room afterwards there were a few girls with spots - but that’s just it- they were teenagers - like you say though no drugs without side effects:-(
I’ll try and get the lotion, can you say what it was called - and are you in the UK?
