I started to read this old topic as your question bumped it up the list.
I have had five Herceptin injections alongside Abraxane (nab-Paclitaxel). At the moment it is hard for me to know what side effects have been from chemo or the injection. I have had aching joints, spontaneously dripping nose, mild sore throat. Also had itchy skin a few days after. Most symptoms cleared within a week each time.
At the end of this month I will be having only the Herceptin injection so it will be interesting to see what happens.

Hello,
Thank you for writing in and helping me revive this topic.
Keep us posted @scientistamafier.
I have had one Herceptin on its own so far and another one due Monday. Same here, not sure if it’s cumulative delayed effects from chemo (completed 10th Oct), or from sub-cut Herceptin (3 weekly).
Joint aches - elbow, knee, hips and sometimes back (first thing in the morning) on the same side of injection (left thigh). 24-48 hours of local tenderness sometimes pain affecting movement.
Left knee still sticky after 3 weeks. Doing walks, yoga stretches and some weights to keep active and see if it improves. The cold I am sure is not helping. Will try Epsom salt baths.
Let’s hope this improves. Take care.
Could there be more side effects when herceptin is injected? I had herceptin intravenously for a year (took about 30 minutes) and I felt pretty good throughout.

Hi @Darla49 ,
Not sure. Will ask them.
I had my second one today sub-cut injection. Will see what happens and perhaps will ask to switch.
Thanks for responding x

My oncologist never mentioned receiving herceptin as an injection so I would be interested in what you find out.
Hi Ros,
I’ve been scanning the web trying to find someone who experienced Herceptin like I did. You are exactly describing my experience, only I was completely fine for the first 6 months on it, 4 of which was herceptin and Perjeta only, and then at 6 months I had surgery and a month and a half after surgery, these symptoms kicked in. I stopped the Perjeta but these issues persist on Herceptin. Were you on herceptin alone? Did the burning limbs, itching skin, shortness of breath ever resolve after treatment? I don’t know if this could be related the the surgery or sudden change in response to the drugs, or both, and hoping not to cause myself any permanent issues.
Thanks!
