Hello ladies. Hoping someone can tell me how herceptin in given and how long it takes. I have horrendous needle phobia and already have a picc line for chemo but have been told herceptin can’t be given through line. Thanks
Hi Helen. I had my first Herceptin traetment acouple of weeks ago at the same time as my chemo. It is given as an injection and I had it in my leg. It didn’t take very long. Make sure you tell the person giving it toy ypu about your phobia and I’m sure they’ll talk you through it and make it as easy for you as they can do. xx
Also make sure they let it warm up a little it stings less going in, if they or you can cup in your hands for a few mins it really does make a difference if its warm enough you cant even feel it. The needle is v fine so its a very small scratch. I had my 6th on Monday and had to double check she had actually done it as I didnt feel a thing
