Hi Red,

I live in Orpington and had my 1st chemo session two weeks ago. It would be good to support each other.
Hi Kallycat - how is your treatment going?

Hi Julie

So far so good with the treatment - but I take every day as it comes (if you know what I mean). Due to have FEC 6 on Thursday of next week. How are you finding it?

Mareex

Mi Maree,

You are a lot further along than me.How many chemo cycles have you got to have?
I did not have a good time with my first chemo. I had a migraine for 1 week after, so the oncologist put me on Tramadol, which did not agree with me and I ended up in hospital for three days! It turned out also that the chemo had been too strong for me and my bloods had gone too low.
Fingers crossed for my next chemo, which is due next Thursday (I am having 6 cycles of FEC-T).They are changing my anti sickness which they think caused my migraines and reducing the chemo by 20%.

Hi Red

I live in the Beckenham area and had my surgery and chemo at the PRU. I was DX in August 08 so further down the line to you, if you have any questions just ask, PM if you prefer

Good Luck - they are a good team!

Andie

Hi there
I’m local to you - Bromley. Getting all my treatment at Marsden following the initial diagnosis at Princess Royal. My mum had her care at Marsden, so I knew it was a place I trusted.
I finished my chemo last Friday and start RT in a couple of weeks. I’ve been a walking (or should I say ‘crawling’!), textbook of the most dramatic SE’s…
A friend commented that my list of side-effects reads like a Heavy Metal festival…
“On the main stage we have Steroid Psychosis, and appearing later - Oral Thrush, Plebitis and Hyperglycemia…”

I have a disabled daughter I’m the sole carer of, so life for the past few months has simply been a matter of coping. I’m looking forward to building a new life, one with less stress and a big focus on happy. It’s a scarey journey, and I’ve not had the support I’d hoped for, but it’s got to make me a stronger person.

Hope this message finds all of you on a ‘good’ day. x

Hi everyone in Kent. I am putting together some ‘get together days’ focusing on practical and emotional issues with some colleagues I have met on my journey. We are supported by a charity and the day is free and we can help with travel costs if you need it. If you would like to come along can you send me a private message. I really think you will get a lot from the day and also help us to plan future days. It will be a positive and useful day. There is so little about locally. I also have a disabled son and we all I think, have so many hopes and fears tied up with our children that we want to spend some time on this on the day. I am not sure if its ok to put this sort of thing on this forum but i know BCC will step in if not. The day is likely to be around the Maidstone area unless we have a lot of people from a particular area and we will come there possibly. We are aiming to have this first day in April and may run a creche if needed so tell me as much about you and your needs as you can. Very best wishes Tessa x
