Hi, i have a red bump on my breast

Hi, I have a red bump on my breast, it isnt itchy or sore. I had a lumpectomy on the same breast 18 months ago followed by radiotherapy. The bump is on the opposite side of the breast to my scar…is this anything to worry about?

Sending love, it’s so easy to worry.

How big is it?

If you’re worried call your breast cancer nurse to get an appointment or go see your GP.

Hi @justme3,

Thanks for posting.

Breast symptoms following treatment for breast cancer can happen for a number of different reasons. It’s natural that you might worry when you notice something different, but it’s important to know the changes to be aware of and get any you notice checked out. You can read more about these in our information via the above link.

If you haven’t done so already as @bluetit11 says, do contact your breast care nurse or treatment team so they can assess this for you.

You may also be interested in our resources that are particularly for those who have come to the end of their main hospital treatment. These are known as our Moving Forward services and include our Moving Forward booklet and Moving Forward courses.

You can attend Moving Forward either at our face-to-face course or take part by joining online.
