Hi, new member awaiting specialist clinic tests

Amber, I don’t know anything at all about Phylodes tumours, but it could also be a normal age-related breast change, or a fatty “thing”. There are loads of things it could be other than the demon cancer. Do you have an appointment to get the results? If it’s next week, I can worry alongside you!

fine needle aspirations arent so accurate and getting used less and less, so i wouldnt rely too much on that.

we sometimes get people who have negative results but go on to have excision biopsy based on the radiological findings … ie it looks suspicious even if the biopsy says no and sometimes these do come back as cancer.

phyllodes tumours both benign and malignant are incredibly rare and would show up more frequently as benign looking on mammo so it doesnt sound as if that would be what they are seeing… although on ultrasound it does tend to look suspicious.

obviously the experts dont know what it is, so i doubt google will be any wiser… i do know the waiting is awful.

ill be keeping my fingers crossed for you.

Appointment for results is next Wednesday at the moment but may have to change that as our son is having a university interview that day.

Why do I end up in a complete panic first thing in the morning and then am pretty ok the rest of the day? Very odd…

Bood sugar level? Just not good at mornings?

Best of luck to you and to son.

Cheryl

Keep strong and let me know if I can do anything to help xx

Thanks everyone - you’re all marvellous at saying the right things.

Been to see my lovely GP, who said I also have a viral throat infection which is probably why I feel so yuk in the mornings. Hadn’t really noticed (!). She’s arranged for me to see the same specialist but privately now, since my work health scheme covers me for it. Better let my social worker know, so that she can help me prepare what questions I need answered at the time.
