Hi new to the forum

Hi

I am Vicky, 42 and was diagnosed on the 13th December with Breast Cancer and has taken a little while to pick up courage to join the forum, little worried it might be too much information at once. However, I approach my 5th chemo session on Tuesday and now understand how long the battle against the cancer can take and the treatments available.

I am having chemo first due 2 areas of concern, hot spot on my 4th rib down and tiny nodules in my lung, it was a split decision by the consultants that the nodules were just part of me but others proceeded on the side of caution.

The tumour is now tiny in my right breast. My left breast showed no cancer. However, my left breast now has a lump which my support nurse checked and I now have to have a mammogram to be safe. They advised me breast tissue is sensitive and likely to be a reaction to the chemo and with the chemo pushing me into the menopause.

Now fears have returned and worried if it is cancer in the left breast why is it not responding to the chemo, having had a great reaction in the right. Has anyone been through anything similar? I have my mammogram on the 15th.

I was starting to allow myself see a positive outcome but now fear the results, always the hardest part waiting.

Hope I can share my experiences to date and support others on the forum.

Thanks

Vicky
