Have been told today that I tested er+,pr+ and Her2-. The er was a weak positive what’s does this mean, do they test again when lump removed or is that that it?
Thanks
Helen

My understanding is that when they remove the lump and examine again, they stain it with special stains to show the er/pr receptors (as they did initially). They score them out of 8. My mum was moderate er+ and has been given drugs to block oestrogen as an attempt to stop any stray cells being able to grow . You may be given drugs to block progesterone if the tumour was strong or moderate positive to that? Maybe someone who was progesterone positive can answer that part.
