Hi Everyone,
I found a dense thickening on my right breast about 4 weeks ago. Went to the docs on friday as I thought it had got bigger, the dr said she could def feel something and also my lobes? under my armpit were swollen, I hadn’t even noticed!! She said she would refer me to the breast clinic and I have an appt next fri. I know i’m prob just being silly and as im only 26 i doubt it could be cancer? but it’s in the back of my mind. I just want this week to go quick!!!

Everyone working on our helpline either has experience of breast cancer, or is a breast care nurse, and has an excellent knowledge of breast cancer issues. It’s the most awful thing having to wait for appointments-it’s so scary and a million things go round in your head. Try to keep busy! Iknow it’s hard, but it’s better to try and keep your mind occupied with something else, naturally this isn’t easy!!! I just want you to know it’s ok to be scared!! You will think about it all week, but when you go you will be looked after and you’ll feel better to be having some reassurance.
Try to let each day go by whatever it holds and b4 you know it Friday will be here!!

I’m 26 too, found a lump in my breast 4 weeks ago and my hospital appointment is on wednesday, i know its the most terrifying thing in the world…I found a lump and i’m so scared about what it might be i try not to think of the worst but its hard not too, my lump is about the size of a pennie and the area around it is dence, i’ve found that most of the pages that ive been on havent been that much helpful but everyone on this site have been so supportive and helpful all I can say is the best of luck with eveything with your your hosspital appointment and try to keep you chin up! I know its easy for people to say espically friends but they dont know what goes through your mind either too you but seriously im in the same boat as you so please be positive and keep me posted

Good luck for tomorrow, what time is your appt?
i’ve been trying not to google it so much lol, it’s the worst thing to do because now i’ve also read that if your start your periods early (i started mine at 10) it can apparently make it more of a possibility, but i’m sure i’m just being over panicky about it.
I’m so glad i’ve found this site,it’s nice to know there’s people here that can relate with each other.
I’ll be thinking about you, let me know how you get on.

Dont feel bad about not knowing about your lymph nodes ,it’s hard to know what your looking for, and we are not experts ( we might be after all this ).
I had thickening in my left boob got sent to hospital within the next week had mammo , scan & biopsy , was the dreaded BC !
I never had a clue ! I even apologised to the bc nurse for wasting her time!
She knew right away that my nodes are also affeted. I start my chemo first, (next week on Wednesday)

Well I had my hospital appt today been told i’ve got to come back next week for an ultrasound and poss biopsy.
I get my results 2nd of jan.

Hi Revol,
Its a difficult time for you to be waiting for test results and whilst it might not be easy can I suggest you have a fantastic xmas and New Year because if it isn’t BC you wont have wasted a xmas etc wondering when there is nothing you can do to change the outcome and, if it is, (please remember most lumps aren’t) then again you wont have wasted a xmas and new year and can begin to fight this in 2009.
Try not to worry, let us know how you get on. The ultrasound and biopsy isn’t too bad and then - just try to forget about it until Jan, xx
