Hot Flushes driving me mad.

Hi all,

I had a hysterectomy on the 2nd Feb and am been driven mad with the hot flushes especially at night I cant take HRT due to my cancer being 100% hormone driven, but was wondering if anyone has tried the Chillow??? might help with the night flushes.

…there have been posts on other threads re hot flushes and chillows, so you need to search. My recollection is that ‘chillows’ help but you need to check for yourself. B

Hi
Chillows are good and i used one during chemo when flushes were at their worse, but also found tramadol helped!!! apparently it blocked the messages to the brain, obviously not a long term solution but it helped me.

Love my chillow !!! I have a ‘normal’ size one and a smaller one. Wouldn’t be without them. If you try one, make sure you get the proper branded one - expensive but worth every penny.

Hi, haven’t tried the chillow, mainly because I get very chilly, especially just before a hot flush, I’m either too cold or way too hot and sweaty! Can’t win! I’ve been using a Trionz magnet for the past year, having read a thread on ladycare magnets. Am way too cool (in the other sense of the word) to attatch a magnet to my knickers so a trendy silicone band is just the job. It seems to work too, still getting them but much less intense.I got mine from wiggle.co.uk but I know sports shops sell them too. Sadly, red wine makes mine worse so I’m strictly white and one glass which is rather boring. I also find throwing off the duvet and groaning is good for the soul and for reminding the OH that I’m still getting them!
