I am curious to know if any of you have experienced the following:
I have recently returned from a holiday in Turkey. Day temp most days was 40 plus! Evenings down to a cool 29 degrees! It wasn’t till I was travelling home back in wet world aka England! That I had my first hot flush since departing the wk before. It is quite bizarre, but could it be that I did have hot flushes but as my temp was already higher I didn’t notice them? Is this possible? Anyone else had this happen to them?
Now I seem to be having them every 2 hrs again and through night = poor sleep pattern so knackered again.
Irene
hi Irene, what treatment are you having?
Alisonxxxxxx
Irene - totally agree with you - have just got back from a week in Spain with temp in the 90s and hardly noticed my flushes. As I landed at Gatwick they were back with a vengeance. Interesting??
Hi Olivia and Irene
your comments have really cheered me up. Hubby and I are off to the Carribean, hopefully, later this year and I was wondering how I would cope with the hot weather, so maybe it won’t be too bad. Am determined to have a hol whatever, and we love the Carribean, so thanks to you both!
Love Deborahxxx
Hi Alison
I’m post menopausal after having an early menopause that started in my late 30’s. Hi have had mastectomy, axillary clearance, chemo fec, rads and now on a break before starting arimidex next wk. Hot flushes slowed right down while on chemo but back as before now, bugger!
Deborahw, can you recommend anywhere in the carribean, its a place I am determined to go to as soon as I have the cash!
Irene
Ive finished my chemo…so was glad to kiss goodbye to the hot flushes…however started my tamoxifen today…so am waiting for the hot flushes to start up again. But ive got maaahooosive big fans to sit in front of both downstairs and upstairs lol…
Ladies,
Can CMF give you hot flushes???

I developed hot flushes once my periods had stopped with the chemo i had which was Epi CMF so I would say yes.

We love Jamaica, hubby was actually born there and has family there, so we took out 2 boys in 2003, and stayed part of the time in a hotel and rest of time with family, and had the most fantastic time.
In 2004 I unfortunately lost my father, and we went to the Dominican Republic on an all inclusive to help us all get over the trauma, and we love it there too.
Hope you manage to get somewhere soon. I am determined to get away as I reckon we are overdue a good hol, never got one last year due to this rotten disease!
Good luck to you, love Deborahxxx
Kelly - sorry to say but a bit YES - CMF does give you hot flushes and I HATE THEM - well thats my rant for today and I now feel much better
On another note how does people manage with hot flushes whilst wearing a wig - I can barely manage my sweaty head with a scarf!!!
Me also! I think mine started when I was on the flight home - bizzare! I have resorted to a little fan that I carry around in my bag, also one in bedside drawer and another in the lounge ready to flick on as soon as I feel one coming on!!! such a pain in the arse!!!

Hi all, for what its worth, today in lloyds chemist, i bought an aqua fan, it was only £1.99, discreet enough for the handbag, i have just put some water that has a drop of lavender in it, and sprayed my face after the last hot flush, it really was better than sex! (well, its been that long) i will be taking mine with me everywhere, it even included the batteries
love
