Thanks for all you good advise… I like to know in advance what i need to do… so can get searching the yellow pages. Dont start tamoxifen until end of aug but it will soon be here. At least that means the chemo is finished!! Think i will start to take starflower now to get it into my stystem.

Oh great. I’ve already got the hot sweats, particularly in bed, and I’m not on tamoxifen yet! Am still on tax! I also get bone cold whenever I’m tired, so I’m stripping off and wrapping up like a mad un every evening!
Thanks for the tips got through this thread

This is the first time I’ve used these discussion pages and I’ve found the tips/comments about hot flushes really useful. I started taking tamoxifen in March this year and the hot flushes are now starting to get on top of me. I have a chillow pillow and it’s OK to cool your face but not the rest of your body. I’ve got a tower fan next to my bed and have to use that most nights. Will now look into the acupuncture as I’ve had it before to treat a bad back and it worked wonders. Thanks everybody.

I’ve just started a course or auricular (ear) acupuncture last night. They recommend about 10 weekly sessions to start and have had some good results. I’m very hopeful as now I’m feeling at the end of my rope with these hot flushes. I’'ve also started taking Megace so it will be difficult to tell whats working best but I would walk on hot coals if it put an end to these dreadful day and night sweats! Are the Starflower capsules ok if you were oestrogen and progesterone receptive?
