Can anyone tell me how long the actual operation may take? I am wondering also how long I will stay in for?
Thanks.

Hi, I would suggest you give your BCN a call. My consultant & BCN went through all the questions you have got. I had the reduction at the same time as the lump was removed on the other side.
I was initially told it was a day procedure, but I was on the surgery list for the afternoon and as it was a long operation (because of both sides) I stayed in overnight. I don’t know how long the reduction on its own would take. I had drains in overnight, but there was virtually nothing in them. Hope this helps. E
Thanks very much.As I did not really ask about all this as didn’t want to hold up the rest of the people wailting to go and see the surgeon.
Hi ladies,
Had may reduction and lift yesterday, went down to theatre at 1.15pm and back on ward 4.30pm,had one drain in,stayed over night and was discharged this morning.
Lots of dressings around breast so couldnt get sports bra on that BCN adviced i needed, instead i have one of those pull on vest looking bras, seems to be holding everything in place and very comfortable.
Cant get over how pert my breast now is,after years of having large breasts this is a welcome change.
After having LD last july i have found this operation so much easier,i was up and mobile not long after getting back on the ward.No pain just a stinging sensation.Hope this helps all you ladies who are going for this op or thinking of going for it. x
Thanks to all ladies that replied to my question. It seem to me that I will have to wait and see what happens are everyone’s answers are so varied depending on what surgery we have already had. Perhaps it was a silly question anyway. I suppose its just that I am pleased that I am having the operation but a bit scared of it all.
