Hi I’ve just been diagnosed with secondary lung and liver after just finishing primary treatment I’ve been back at work two weeks and need to start chemo again I’m all mixed upp can’t think straight I’m really scared don’t know what to do. X x
Oh - I really feel for you. I had much longer in between primary and secondary diagnosis and mine is mainly in my bones (some progression to lungs recently) but I have worked all the way through so far. I have had bad weeks but it is all about managing what you can do and being realistic. There is something about working which is normal - which is why I keep going. I would try and take it as it comes - it is impossible to predict how you will feel. The chemo will probably be different and you may be better on it than before. But you also need to give yourself some time. You have had a big shock - getting the secondary diagnosis is a real blow and you need to give yourself some time to deal with it. Just try and take it one step at a time.
Sending hugs
I got the double whammy primary in August and told it was secondary in September did take 5 weeks off in the first instance time allowed me to get to multiple appointments scans etc I went back full time after that and am coping OK hope you fell better and get your head round things very soon xx
I work
i made a decision to attend to the important things in life
for me work is important. But I only work 3 days a week. I don’t think I could work 5 days.
I take time off after each chemo, and time after operations. And I take time to be with my family
i have to admit some days working is pretty challenging, mainly because of what goes on it my head.
