I’ve finally got enough hair to go out wigless, but am at a loss as to how to make it look good … I’ve found this blog post lacunaloft.org/post-chemo-hair-growth-styling-tips/ and am thinking hair paste is the way forward at this length. Any recommendations? Is hair paste and hair putty the same thing?! I have always had really easy long hair and literally have no idea what to do with this new stuff!
Hi Leanne
I didn’t lose all my hair due to cold cap but it went so VERY thin from my usual thick long straight hair that I cut it really short anyway as you could see patches of scalp
I went into Boots and bought loads of mini travel putty/ paste pots and they were all different! I found the best ones were ones that looked like cream rather than the greyer ones which left my hair crunchy and in clumps!
11 months on I have got very thick hair again but I’m keeping it short for the moment as it is CURLY!!!
I use VO5 texture Rework putty which is white and put it on newly washed hair that has air dried. It keeps hair looking shiny and soft but does help keep a style!! From what I have read it’s good to do as little as possible for a few months after chemo.
(sorry, that reads like some silly advert !)
all the best

Thanks! Got some creamy paste in the end, and attempting a side parting/comb over. I just need to do something to make it look nice as everything thinks i have cut my hair off deliberately.
