Hydra Detox & Acupuncture
Hydra Detox & Acupuncture Hi Ladies
Both of the above have been mentioned to me to help with chemo (Epirubicin followed by CMF which I’m yet to start). The hydra detox to help ‘detox’ (obviously!!) and the acupuncture to help with sickness (the anti-sickness tablets are making me heave just at the thought of them). Has anyone had any experiences / recommendations?
Thanks.
Acupuncture Hi Skippy
I am an acupuncturist and also a breast cancer patient.
I can highly recommend acupuncture for helping with the feelings of nausea caused by chemo, both as a patient of acupuncture and as (now) a practitioner. In addition it can help with feelings of being hot & irritable & not sleeping which are also common side effects of chemo.
If you decide to give it a try I would suggest you look on the British Acupuncture Website for a registered practitioner who will be fully trained and insured.
Best of luck
Jenny
— I tried something called aqua detox which involved sitting with my feet in a foot bath of water and some special ingredient which gradually turned a disgusting colour brown with scum floating on the top. This was supposedly the toxins and impurities from my body. I was urged to try it by my reflexologhist. I was nervous of having it soon after the chemo as my logic told me i needed the toxins in my body to do the work. I did have it towards the end of a couple of cycles as it was supposed to have amazing affects on chemo side effects. Unfortunately, although looking very dramatic i never felt any improvement in any of my symptons so reverted to reflexology which at least made me feel relaxed.

Reflexology Thanks for the info Kelley. I was told not to have reflexology during chemo but from reading the forum it seems like quite a few people are having it. All very confusing.
