Hysterectomy 2 years before DX

Ladies, just for my own curiosity i would like to hear from you if you had a hysterectomy 2 years before DX.
One or two ladies mentioned this before but that was a while ago.

Not ness 2 years it was just a while ago afew ladies on here all seemed to say 2 years after a hysterectomy they were diagnosed.
When i asked how long he thought my lump had been there he said roughly 2 years would be his bet. I just thought it abit odd that there seemed to be a good few ladies on here that were diagnosed 2 years after a hysterectomy but if its 3 years i would still be interested in knowing.

My mum has a hysterectomy about three/four years ago. Was dx March this year. There was no connection, but there was a connection to her HRT, the doctors have actually said that is what caused it.

Hi, I had a hysterectomy 4 years before dx of bc this year.I am 39. I had it for severe endemetriosis and had HRT.So probably not helped gettingbc plus my mum having it in her 40’s (bc).

I had a Hysterectomy in Nov '07 and was dx in June '08 - I’m 37.

Consultant assured me there’s no connection between the two.

I had hysterectomy in 1999 and was dx in 2004…was 39 when had hysterectomy…retained my ovaries as my aunt was dx with BC whilst on HRT…not that it made any difference I was still dx with BC and ER+…I did ask my GP if keeping my ovaries would of played any part in my dx…he said there was a possibility but then if they’d been removed I would of been on HRT and at risk on that so seems I wasn’t going to win either way!!!

I had a hysterectomy. ovaries removed, after some 8 D & C’s for fibroids, in 1991. Got idc in 2003, ER+, HER2- - don’t think there is a connection in my case, but could be wrong as I was on HRT afterwards. Interesting hypothesis.

2 years for me too. I had hysterectomy in January 2003 and was diagnosed in Feb 2005. I didn’t have HRT as my ovaries weren’t removed. I have wondered whether if i’d had them removed i mightnot have got cancer. Who knows?

I had a hysterectomy at 43 then dx with bc at 48
I too wonder if id had my ovaries removed at the time i may not have been dx with bc

Hi all

I had a Hysterectomy in 2003 age 38 and dx 2007 age 43. I also have my ovaries intact and part of my cervix. I did wonder if there was a connection but i have also been under a massive amount of stress over the past 4 years and they say that can also be a factor. Who really knows what causes BC, i think you could make yourself go mad with the worrying.
