I am very confused

Hi all

My wife had 11 sessions of Taxotere and a year of Xeloda. That all finished in November of 2007.

The latest scan shows her liver spots are growing again, she has a large area of her liver affected.

I am confused as she has been put on FEC now, I cannot see anyone on the site that has gone from Taxotere to FEC, it is usually the other way round, as far as I know the TAX is the more aggressive.

Any help out there would be very much appreciated.

Hi Terry

Different groups of chemotherapy drugs attack cancer cells in different ways so the mechanism for how FEC works is different from taxotere. So its more complicated than whether one drug is ‘more aggressive’ than another.

Generally people do have FEC before taxotere…but not always. But talk to your wif’es oncologist about this.

best wishes

Jane
