I’m new to forums - just need to ‘talk’ to someone. Have had pain in right breast for about 5 weeks. Saw Dr last week, got fast track n went today to clinic- 3 hours of back n forth. Turns out have found 2 ‘issues’ in left breast, one in the right. Had mammogram and ultrasound and 3 core biopsies. In real pain since the local anaes wore off. Didn’t really have any probs with left but agony now. Have been given appointment to go back on Thursday for results- from reading around it seems that this is very quick to get a result- does this mean it will be a wasted journey? The nurse said it could be fibroadenoma - but if so, why the pain, since reading suggests these are usually painless?

Sory to hear you are in such pain - when I had my biopsy some weeks ago they took 5 samples, and once the local wore off it was a bit sore and bruised - but nothing a couple of paracetamol didnt cure. This lasted for a few days but didnt cause me any problems. given that you had breast pain before the biopsy perhaps this had made it feel worse ? Given that its only Tuesday now perhaps if you are in a lot of pain thats difficult to manage you should call your gp and ask advice ?
With regards to test results - I think it varies hugely depending on where you are located as to how quickly you get the results. Some people get them the same day (believe thats called a one stop clinic?), others 24 / 48 hours, some others one or two weeks - I dont think you should read anything at all into how long the results take to come in at this moment in time.
I have read quite a lot on Fibroadenoma´s and if they are located near a muscle or pressing on a nerve or something they can cause pain…but again its best to wait for your results and try not to second guess…easier said than done I know !!

Thanks for your comments, I have to say that it is really helpful when other people have had the same probs - I think the pain is worse because its now in both boobs and constant - I think I must have a low pain threshold plus there is a lot of bruising. Anyway I hope it’s all worth it to get the problem sorted and I am grateful that hopefully iy won’t drag on too long. Thanks again X
