Had the op to remove lump and sample lymph nodes, plus took part in Sentinel node study yesterday. It was fine. Nothing to worry about, those of you who are about to have this done.
I was as sick as a dog with the anaesthetic and that was the worse thing about it!
Am now relaxing at home until the next hurdle, which is to find out, (on 14/8) whether it has spread to the lymph glands. I hope not. Can’t stand the thought of that b----y anaesthetic again!
I’m so glad you’re now relaxing at home, and how reassuring for others that you found the op to be fine (well apart from the anaesthetic!). Be sure to put your feet up and let yourself be pampered and spoilt now!!
I had a total axillary clearance at the same time as my mastectomy. I had 25/28 nodes affected but as my surgeon had removed them all I didn’t need to go back for another op, but I can totally understand why you can well do without anymore surgery!
I wish you well for your appt next week, be sure to let us know how you get on,
Glad you are home and everything ok and nothing to worry about. Have been thinking about you. I am going in on 21st for the same procedure - think they called in a quandrectomy and sentinel node bipsy. I am working until then just to keep me busy. Keep us updated. Good luck for the results next week.
Hi Julie - so glad you are home and fingers crossed for 14th. Very unusual reaction to the anaesthetic, poor you. Do let us know how you get on and if you have any questions at all however trivial you may think they are.
Hi Julie
I was always sick as a dog after anesthetics, but I told the anesthetists at my last two ops about it and they said these days we can prevent that and they certainly did. I was fine when I came round,I just wanted a cup of tea and a sandwich as soon as I was allowed,no sickness at all.
hi julie,
im realy glad to hear your back home and everything went well with the op. I too had a WLE sentinel node and axillery sampling on the 25th july and am going back to the breast clinic thurs for my results keeping everything crossed that the nodes come back clear otherwise ill have to have a second op too. I was given a anti sickness drug before the anaesthetic so thankfully didnt have any sickness at all .Good luck for next week and take care.
Lindiloo
Glad to hear your op went well and your back at home recovering nicely, same as me.
Hopefully you wont need any further surgery.
Make the most of all the pampering i’m sure your’e getting. My husbands been really good pampering to my every whim, although he said i’d gone too far the other day when I asked for a pedicure!!
Take care, let us know how you get on on the 14th.
Glad your op went well Julie and you are now relaxing at home. Please if you need another anaesthetic tell them you are sick - I did and this time round I was neither up nor down, and in fact was home 2 hours after op!
Thanks for your messages. I had the dreaded drain out on Friday, so am feeling fine. Went to a barbecue at a friend’s house on Friday night and a meal last night. Life almost normal!
