I was on a trial, but because they haven’t got all of the cancer I have to be taken off the trial. I knew where I was before in terms of who to turn to when things were bad, but I feel unclear who to turn to now. I felt that there was limited conversation about prognosis and treatment. Does anyone have any pointers on how I can get some control back, can I book an appointment with the consultant or nurse as a follow up, I have been appointed a nurse in the early days, but haven’t seen much of her since, and see differently people nearly every time.
Hi Samntha
I’m sorry to read you’re having a difficult time at the moment. Whilst you wait for the other users to reply with their knowledge and experience you might find it helpful to talk things through with a member of staff on the BCC helpline. Here you can share your thoughts and concerns with someone who will offer you a listening ear as well as emotional support and practical information. The number to call is 0808 800 6000 and lines are open weekdays 9 to 5pm and Saturday 10 to 2pm.
Best wishes Sam, BCC Facilitator
Hi Samntha, not sure what stage you were at on the trial but suggest you speak to your breast care nurse or consultant’s secretary…I would have thought they will have an alternative treatment plan for you. Hope you get clarification soon xx
