If you could turn back time.....

The obvious thing to us ladies on here, would be to turn back the time to pre BC and somehow stop it…but…

I was wondering, if there were three things you could prevent happening, or change the history of anywhere in the world, in any time zone…let me give you an example…

  1. I would get talking to Mark Chapman on 8th December 1980 and prevent him from killing John Lennon.

  2. I would visit Marilyn Monroe on August 4th 1962, stay with her, chatting, until August 5th had passed and she wouldn’t take the overdose.

  3. I would stop Paul Kossoff - guitarist with Free - from getting on the plane where he died on route to London of an heart attack on 19th of March 1976.

They don’t have to be about saving people from death, but if you could change anything or prevent anything, what would it be…

If I could turn back time…

I. I would not drop my mobile down the toilet and lose all my numbers.

  1. I would not pull wings off flies and say “Look, I’ve made spiders!” (I was five)

3.I would have reasoned with Tony Blair about going into Iraq and he would say “Hey, you;re right Chebsy - not a good idea”

If I could turn back time …

1 - I would have said to Marie Antionette “listen Babe, It’s bread or your head”

2 - I would have said to Romeo " Look closer chum, she ain’t dead"

3 - I would have said to Julius Caeser " Watch your back Mate"

If I could turn back time

I would have taken the job I was offered that would have given me full pay for 6 months off sick and phased return instead of staying loyal with am employer who only paid SSP so I had to continue to work as much as I could manage through treatment.

I would have saved my babies for the love of my life instead of having them with the ********** they call dad

I would have spoken to my mum the day she died in a car accident instead of saying I would ring her back

If I could turn back time

I would have taken the job I was offered in Devon when I was 18,instead of being scared to move away from home.
I would have left my ex husband after 10 years instead of 21 and putting myself kids through misery for 11 years.
I would have joined the wrens

If I could turn back time

and then I got stuck. Life has been good BUT I think I would have believed more in myself and been a doctor or a solicitor. Lack of confidence is a curse… But enjoying what you have is a blessing.

true Dilys …

If I could turn back time

I wouldn’t change a thing.

Even though my OH has had testicular cancer, and chemo, that is what got us back together (we’d split up years before, and were friends)
Even though I had a brain haemorrage - I got away with it - no disability
Even though I have breast cancer - I have my OH’s love and support

I am loved, I have two children (both conceived when we weren’t meant to be able to have children because of OH’s chemo).

I wouldn’t change a thing, I am blessed.

Oh Sue - that is so sad but so lovely. I am so sure you deserve that happiness after all you have been through. Won’t even start on the things my husband has gone through but we found each other relatively late in life (we married when I was 42 and he was 56) and we have so much to be thankful for. No children between us but his daughter is a delight to me and therefore the two gorgeous step grand children.

We must stop hi-jacking this thread!

From another person who considers herself blessed

Sue and Dilys - how refreshing to read of happiness when every time you put on the TV or read a paper there is so much bad news.

If I could turn back time

I would love to have seen the pyramids being built - maybe as a favourite wife of a pharoah
Witnessed the summer solstice at Stonehenge a few years after its completion
Discovered a tribe that had never seen a white man

I would love to turn back just a week and stop Ben Mullany and his beautiful new wife not being killed on their honeymoon So sad

I would have loved to be the first lottery winner or the last lol

I would have loved to be around when there was the slave trade and free them all

If i could turn back time

I would love to have lived my life in the late 18 hundreds/early 19 hundreds. Just to experience life without technology.

I would live my younger years with the experiences i know now

I would be more thankful for what i have been given in life
