Hello everyone,
If you’d like to speak to someone who understands what it’s like to undergo and recover from surgery - both physically and emotionally - then our volunteers can help.
Our Someone Like Me telephone service can put you in touch with someone who’s had a primary diagnosis or treatment path that has been similar to yours. With a network of around 200 trained volunteers, we can find someone who has more in common with you and understands your particular concerns.
“My volunteer is very easy to talk to and has helped me realise that how I feel is normal and that it needs to come out. She has also given me some practical suggestions which have helped. Most importantly, she has made me feel that I am not alone. I feel stronger just knowing that I can speak to her again if I need to.”
