I'm pregnant......to soon????

Hi Ladies,
I haven’t posted since about April, when i finished my chemotherapy. I found out a few weeks ago that i am pregnant. i am 10 weeks gone and though unexpected, i am happy as i worried i wouldn’t be able to have any more children. But i am also worried it is far too soon. i am at the hospital on thursday to see my consultant as it is a year from my last surgery. I’m dreading admitting it. Has anyone else got pregnant so soon after treatment, or got any advice in general. I really don’t want them to make me feel bad about it as i am in general very happy about it.

hi Debs
I can really understand that whilst you are happy it’s also a bit worrying too. I had a boyfriend at the time of treatment and after and at one point I thought that may be the case for me and I was sort of very happy wondering if it was possible and also rather nervous too but I wasn’t pregnant in the end.
I hope your appointment goes well with the oncologist.

Well done debs great news

Hi debs

firstly a big congratulations! Secondly, I can see why you are nervous about telling your oncologist if s/he is like mine as I was told to
wait two years post treatment. However, you already have a little baby growing inside you now do there is absutely no point going over the what ifs. I would agree that you should enjoy this as a blessing but be doubly, tripley, quadrupely vigilant. I suppose they worry about the cancer coming back whilst you are pregnant , but jane on
this forum
just went through Chemo whilst pregnant and now has a lovely healthy baby girl.

I hope everything goes well
for you and your baby, please keep
us updated.

Hi Debs - so, how did it go with your Onc? My daughter will be 1 in March and I was diagnosed with BC at just over 3 months pregnant with her. I had my op straight away and then my first chemo just before I was 20 weeks gone. My little girl was born after chemo 5 of 6 and is unaffected by the chemo…she was even born with hair! (I didn’t have any!!)

Anyway, you’ve not indicated that you have any suspicions about potentially having another lump so hopefully you’ll be fine. Don’t worry about your Onc…it’s your life and you have to balance caution with happiness.

Thinking of you - hope you had an extra special fab Christmas

Faye

massive congrats. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

congratulations hope all goes well for you

Hi Debs

Just seen your post and wanted to offer congrats, and wondering how it went with your onc?

I got pregnant a year and 9 months after diagnosis, which was against recommendations. We got through that pregnancy just fine, no sign of recurrence. I’m now more than 6 years on and I have had a recurrence with a second pregnancy, so it goes to show you never know what’s coming up. Everyone thought I was clear and safe to get on with life.

As Tors said, be vigilant. Make sure you have an ultrasound or two during your pregnancy, especially as pregnant boobs can hide lumps easily.

Wishing you all the very best for a happy, healthy pregnancy. xxx
