Immediate reconstruction. Implants or flap??

Had the op yesterday, home today , very sore and tired but at least it’s done, and I can ‘relax’ for a while, I get the results in 2 weeks

Hi Jane
Yes, you will be very tired. Listen to your body and take time to heal.I am on week 4 post op and now managing to stay awake all day without a nap. Let others spoil you
Have a restful peaceful Christmas

Definitely echo the other comments jane. Take it easy, if you’ve still got drains in the putvthe in a small tote over your shoulder, or pin them to you waist band.

Make sure you’re stocked up with painkillers and laxatives (sorry, common need after anaesthetic and some Mede!) No lifting or reaching high. Do your exercises and get plenty of rest. You’ll feel a bit better each so should be ready to enjoy the festivities! Xxx

Thank you ladies, yes got the drain until I see the surgeon next Thursday, leaving the ‘cocoon’ of the hospital felt a bit daunting, and you don’t realise how much you rely on your upper body strength, until you can’t use it! Looking forward to Xmas now and maybe a few ??xx Thanks again you are helping a lot xxxx Merry Xmas to you all xx

Well done Janemc.

Take a painkiller before you go to bed even if you aren’t in pain at the time, to avoid waking yourself up whilst you’re moving around in your sleep. Plus I echo Riversidedawn - imperative you do your exercises. You’ll recover that much more quickly. Honest.

Hope you all enjoy your Christmases

Lots of love, DellyWellyDingDong xxxxxxx
