Hello
Following a BC diagnosis 6years ago and resulting mastectomy (aged 34) my mum was then diagnosed with BC - TWICE. As a result I opted for a risk reducing mastectomy of the other side last October, only problem is the recon wasn’t that great - it’s quite flat down the side and the make matters worse the implant decided to do a 180 degree spin which was pretty horrifying!
Don’t worry - it corrected itself but my surgeon says I probably need another op to correct the problem. He talked about wither giving me a large implant to “fill the space more effectively” OR using lipo. Has anyone else experienced this at all?

Hi Pretty Pink
Sorry to hear that you are having problems. I’ve sent a message to BCC asking to have you moved to a thread where you will find more useful information.
In the meantime you might find what you are looking for by going to the list on the left hand side of the screen- find the shaded title “Living With breast Cancer” then scroll down to the sub heading called “Reconstructive Surgery” and click on that.
Good luck with it all - Diana
I had my reconstrustion done at time of mastectomy with an implant and LD Flap. The first implant became hard and uncomfortable so the surgeon removed it and inserted a newer type of implant that would not go had (encapsulated he called it). Since then all has been well and I am pleasd with the result. I was 39 and am 62 now. I cannot help with your enquiry about what to do but hopefully someone will come along who does have knowledge about it. Hope your problem is rectified soon. Take care. Val
