Hi All,
I was diagnosed last year at 28. I had a bilateral MX and opted for implant only recon. I had tissue expanders put in at the time of the MX. Sadly I needed chemo and radiotherapy (which wasnt anticipated at the time of the op) but on the plus side I hope it will help me stay well and I didnt really experience too many problems with capsular contracture etc which I know could have been an issue.
As the expanders filled up the left implant rotated into a funny position so I was a bit lopsided but I could put up with it! They were hard and looked fake but in clothes I felt comfortable and fairly confident - despite being a baldy!
Anyway last thursday I had the op to replace the tissue expanders with silicone implants and already I am gutted with the results. Im still a bit battered and bruised so I know I need to give it a chance but the left implant still doesnt seem to be in quite the right position but more upsettingly I have some fairly obvious rippling in the ‘cleavage area’ on the left side.
Does anyone know whether rippling gets worse with time? Im worried that if I have some after a week then in a few years time they will be really bad! Im seeing the surgeon on Tuesday so know he will explain everything he has been brilliant - but any advice would make me feel better while I wait to see him!
Thanks and sorry this is so long!
