implant op

hi, i had my mastecomy and reconstruction surgery in jan this year and now i am about to have the expander implant removed and a more permanant implant put in but iam so nervous that for two pins i would cancel it i just wondered if there is anyone who has had it done if they could let me know how it went what sort if any pain and how long they were in hospital for many thanks… terrified!

Hi I had my permanent implant put in in July this year, not bad at all. Went home from hospital 4 hours after operation. Lots of brusing but not really any pain.
Next op is for the nipple and the augmentation of my good breast.

So please I had it done.

I was wondering how they will put the implant in - will I have another scar to add to my collection? I guess so, as I have only my underarm lymph node one and the circular one on my breast…

And mawes - I haven’t done it, but surely nothing can be as bad as that Mx AND recon pain! Remember it gets better! My Mum never had a permanent implant put in - they took the port off of her expander implant and that was it. I’m not sure why this was - maybe she was 58 and it was assumed it wouldn’t have to last as long?? her result with expander implant was great.

I have had reconstruction surgery which was done all at the same time they took the muscle from my back. This was done 3 years ago but I am never free of pain. Implant feels like a brick and all the way round everything is so tight which restricts what I can do. Has anyone else experienced this, perhaps its normal but surely it should be feeling better now. I am on nerve tablets, pain relieve and a relaxant in the evening which means I am taking 15 tablets a day. The breast unit said it all looks fine, but I dont feel fine. Comments please it seems at the moment nobody seems to care.
