Indegestion anyone ?- Im freaking out
Indegestion anyone ?- Im freaking out Hello All
As I have now turned into the world’s biggest hypochondriac since bc I now have further worry. About 6 years ago I started burping after everything I ate. (Sorry for too much information!) Anyway in the end I had an endoscopy which found nothing . Anyway it just disappeared after a while.
For the last week I have again been burping all the time (after not doing it for 6 years) and have now convinced myself it is somethnig to do with secondary breast cancer spread to my stomach!!!
Does anyone out there get indigestion and is the stomach a common place for secondaries.?
GOd I hate this!!!

indigestion Hi Alise,
How awful for you! I’ll let someone with more experience touch the secondaries bit, but I don’t think stomach is the usual place for bc secondaries - isn’t it lungs, liver and bones??
My niece sometimes has indigestion with burping. She has had every test under the sun for years, but they found nothing. Now they think it is stress-related. Do you think yours could be? I suffer from stress myself and know how much it can effect the body. I’m sure having bc makes it go into overload – majorly stressful!!!
Probably no help at all, but…
Hope it clears up very soon for you whatever may be causing it.

I’ve had something similar a couple of times, and I think it lasted a few weeks (at least). It went away on its own in the end and I didn’t find out what it was. I think stress can make stomach problems worse too, so if you get it checked out and get some reassurance from that hopefully that in itself will help.
Hope you feel better soon.

My OH had to speak to my GP about this a couple of weeks back as I have been getting trapped wind/indigestion. He gave me a prescription for some Omeprazole capsules. You only take one a day if it’s bothering you, they are v. good. I can’t cope with stomach problems on top of everything else, I’ve had really bad bouts of constipation on Taxotere which is bad enough.
Hi Alaise I too have had bad indigestion since starting my Chemo last August , This got worse and was acompanied with very bad pains in my chest under my rib cage and in my stomache. In the end I went to the Doc’ who arranged for me to have an Endoscopy. The diagnosis is I have a very severe Hiatus Hernia so looks as though I shall be having yet another op’, but at least it is not a spread of the Cancer although there was some suggestion that it could have been caused by the Chemo, Best of luck with yours, hopefully it is just the stress of the treatment causing your problems and will soon settle down.,

Indigestion I was crippled with indigestion, to the point where I was given morphine shots for the pain. I’d ring NHS 24 feeling like a right idiot because it was only indigestion, but I knew i had to get something stronger than what i had (if I get indigestion I get sick which makes it worse so have to get something to stop me being sick)
The last bout was the worst, it took 2 days to clear and even then I had sore ribs and just felt awful for about 2 weeks after it. i had an endoscopy but that was clear. It was just my treatment.
Thankfully I havent had a bout since end of Feb and have made appt to start coming off Omeprazole. But the Zantac is never far away.
I hope you get something sorted soon.
