Hi everyone had a double WLE & SNB a week ago which went fine,had a little discomfort but nothing like I was expecting so i was very upbeat!..Then it all went drastically wrong 5 days later! Agonising pain,feeling dizzy,nauseous but the worst was yet to come I felt a hot gush from my boob and the smell was horrendous! Went to my G.P now on antibiotics I feel better in myself but boob is still leaking and smelly! Any advice on how long this will take to resolve? And anything I can do myself to help the healing process? Thanks in advance! This cancer gets you down! But it sure as hell wont beat us! Xx
Has happened to me,3 times,first after a WLE some years ago,then implants this time round,twice.Take all your A/B,drink fluids,take pain killers and rest.Horrible time.One time fluid went all over the floor,or,and wore towels and flannels for days!!!
Thanks jillybee for the reply, i really feel for you having it so many times! The pain is horrendous!As if we don’t go through enough without leaking fluid everytime we move! Its settling down now but as you said a flannel stuffed in my bra is a god send! The only downside is i thought my boob looked pretty good after surgery apparently not now! after all this fluid is leaking out it looks like a deflated balloon! If I don’t laugh at myself I would probably cry! Il just be glad when its gone!
Yet another question? I changed my dressing today and when I was removing it there was a little wire clip the size of a grain of rice ,it appears to have worked its way out of my wound. after a little research I found out that it could be a marker the surgeon has put there for radiotherapy,something else I knew nothing about! So I’m wandering is it this and what will happen if its fallen out? I’ve rang my bcn this morning and have had no reply yet,and I’m stressing! Again! Xx
