Infertility treatment

I’m hoping to use a surrogate in order to have another child as i can’t carry a child myself, my cancer being hormone receptive. Does anyone know if there is a way of harvesting my eggs (assuming they haven’t been affected by chemo) without having to over-stimulate them? I’m currently having zoladex injections so not really sure how this would affect things either. I’m not against using the surrogates eggs but would prefer to use my own if possible… can anyone help???

im not sure chica…but from what i can gather they pump you full of hormones (blooming things hate them with a passion now) to stimulate your ovaries in producing shed loads of eggs for harvesting. Your best bet will be to ask your oncologist or bc nurse to find out whats what and wheres where

Hi there,
I can’t answer your question but I did have one cycle of IVF between my mastectomy and chemo in 2004. We didn’t get any eggs and I didn’t want to delay chemo any longer so that was that.
Since then my sister has donated eggs and we now have 3 embryos. We are also hoping to find a surrogate.
Best wishes,
Rowena

hi,

I am currently undergoing IVF as we speak before my Chemo starts, but i am tripple negative (to all hormones) I think its normal for our ovaries to produce 1/2 eggs a month, They alternate which one produces eggs which month. So not sure if without the hormones it would be possible to collect eggs. If you ask you breast care nurse they would be able to help or refer you to the fertility team. It is also some times up to your oncologist.

sorry cant answer your question. good luck and hope it is possible
